It was a warm 2014 summer evening and Emma was driving with her friend to catch the sunset

at the beach, naturally using the Balboa Island Ferry as a shortcut, all while blasting Justin

Bieber from her classic white Volkswagen Jetta. At the time, Tim had worked a summer job

there (super cool job) and was able to make his first move by giving her a free pass across -

regardless of her tenure as a Corona Del Mar High School student.

As friends for the remainder of high school, it wasn’t until after graduation that Tim followed up

on his first move and built up the courage to ask Emma to a pizza date on the beach.

Fast forward many pizza dates, road trips, adventures, and memories later, Tim asked Emma to

marry him and even managed to do so before she had her morning coffee (impressive).

…Now, 8 years past that first date, Tim and Emma live just a block away from the Balboa Island

Ferry.
